ß-Nicotinamide mononucleotide (ß-NMN) is a nucleotide formed by the combination of ribose and nicotinamide. It is a derivative of niacin ( vitamin B3 ) and can be used by human enzymes to produce NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide).

NAD+ plays a crucial role in various metabolic pathways and functions primarily as an oxidant. Particularly important is its high-energy form, NADH, which is essential for the production of ATP. ß-NMN serves as a cofactor in processes in the mitochondria, the sirtuins (a group of enzymes) and PARP – an enzyme involved in the repair of DNA breaks . For this reason, it has been examined in various studies for its potential neuroprotective effects¹ and anti-aging properties² .

 

In food, ß-NMN is mainly found in fruits and vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, cucumbers and avocados.

Ascorbic acid is an organic acid that occurs in four different forms. However, only L-ascorbic acid is biologically active. Both L-ascorbic acid and its equivalent derivatives are referred to as vitamin C. Due to its properties as an antioxidant and free radical scavenger, vitamin C plays an important role in the body. It also acts as an essential coenzyme in the biosynthesis of collagen .

 

A deficiency of vitamin C can lead to scurvy because collagen is found not only in connective tissue but also in virtually all other human and animal cells. This can have a negative impact on connective tissue and cause symptoms such as exhaustion and tiredness .

Vitamin C is mainly found in fruits and vegetables. Citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons and grapefruits are known to be rich in vitamin C. Among the vegetables, kale, red cabbage, white cabbage and sauerkraut in particular have a high vitamin C content.

Recommended dosage :
1 capsule daily, unchewed, with sufficient water.
